Mission Statement:

What are we?
Welcome to Between the Sheets, a female run digital blog! This blog is all about women and our sexuality. We explore this through 5 different lenses: a comedy piece, a podcast, a sex column, an editorial shoot, and a scholarly article.

What is the point of this?
We want to relate to you; make you laugh and keep you entertained whilst (hopefully) enriching your self-identity – as well as ours – by adding nuance where limiting attitudes have reigned free!

How will we achieve this?
To achieve this, we will venture into the world of sex, love, and relationships. We will look at how these sometimes interact and how these sometimes clash. However, women’s sexuality also permeates other areas of life: for instance, our relationship with sex often affects how we understand ourselves as women, and by extension how empowered we feel. As a result, this is also an area we will pay attention to. Throughout all of this, we will consistently try to challenge outdated stereotypes and taboos. We will achieve this by taking an approach which celebrates nuance and favours women’s lived experiences, in order to create a space in which sexuality for women is whatever you, as a woman, decide it should be.

Our message to you:
We hope that this will be as enriching a process of self-discovery for you, as it has been for us. If this exploration resonates with you in anyway, we encourage you to add to our voice and share your experiences, as that is the overarching point of this blog: we want to embolden women to define what sexuality means for themselves. Currently, we are limited in this pursuit by the fact that our team only represents a small fraction of what the term ‘woman’ can come to represent. Our voices don’t represent those of all women, or even most women. We want to change this. We want to include as many different perspectives as we can. Our success is dependent on you and your experiences, so share them with us. Help us give women the spotlight, platform, and opportunity to speak on what’s unspoken!
